Why do I need a Pond Maintenance Plan?
Regain your pride in your pond with a Pond Maintenance Plan.
A Pond Owner’s Story
Recently a concerned pond owner submitted a Pond Assessment request with these comments.
“ We have a large pond on our land. Growing up, it was teeming with all kinds of life. I used to fish there everyday. There were huge bass, carp, crappies, bream, bait fish, etc. There is nothing in there now fish wise. It has been this way for many years now. It’s been well over 25 years since I caught a fish in there. There are plenty of frogs though. I’ve seen many tadpoles over the years. It’s rather murky and dark. The water is black almost when you look at it and the sun isn’t shining on it. So many leaves have fallen in it over the years and sank. It’s to the point the bottom is just muddy and littered with dead leaves. It is surrounded by lots of smaller trees with some having fell into it.“
This pond owner is concerned about his pond and its current condition. We are moved by his feelings of disappointment and his desire to return the pond to a healthy environment teeming with fish, and other aquatic life.
Whether your pond is a stormwater pond, farm pond, or naturally occurring pond, an annual pond maintenance plan will keep your pond clean, healthy, and a great environment for aquatic life.
