Submerged Diffused Aeration

Depending on the depth of your pond, a fountain may not provide enough aeration. Why? To achieve total pond aeration the entire body of water needs to circulate at the same time. Fountains draw water from the top of the pond, water that is at depths deeper than 6-feet remain oxygen-deprived.

Underwater aeration systems, are recommended for ponds deeper than 6′ to provide complete circulation. Larger Ponds may require more than one aeration unit. With an aeration unit, the air is pushed through diffuser plates positioned at the bottom of the pond. As the air bubbles rise, oxygenated water from the surface moves to the bottom, creating a healthy aerobic pond ecosystem.
